Description
I often fantasise about using rivers to lead into a landscape, much like Ansel Adams does in his famous Teton Range from Snake River image, honestly is this the best landscape ever taken?
However South Australia severely lacks any great rivers, we have the mighty Murray and one turn of the Glenelg River, but other than that it’s mainly dry creek beds. This composition works, not because of amazing light, but because the way the dry creek bed really leads you into the frame. Once again this image would only work on black and white film, I also shot it on digital, that image just didn’t give me any emotional feelings when I looked at it, whereas this one really draws you in and gives you a feeling of being in the Flinders Ranges.
