What does a $2 Headshot Look Like?

Not many people realise I do headshots, a lot of headshots in fact, perhaps 8000 a year.

How so many?

Well, I don’t muck around, I get in, get out and minimise the suffering of your staff. For some reason people dread their headshots, more than getting their teeth pulled out it seems, so they seem happy to not be stuck in front of the lens for too long.

I get in set up my lighting and just smash through.

Here is an example, I took my first shot and 9.51am, 21 people in and out by 10.06 am. That’s 40 seconds per person including posing and so on. My record is 396 people in 3 hours.

I’m sure you can tell from the thumbnails they are great quality, every one looks happy and approachable. I think I can get good expressions, because I am quick. It’s kind of counter intuitive that rushing makes the quality higher.

Importantly for your accounts department I charge per hour, not per headshot.

In the example shown, SASPA got these headshot during another shoot, so they didn’t need to pay for travel and setup. The client would have paid $160 per hour, so for fifteen minutes that is $40, or less than $1.50 per headshot. I admit this is the best case scenario, no travel, I processed during quiet times of the shoot, but I’m sure you get my point.

Need to refresh your headshots? (they are important, I’ll explain that in a future post), please get in touch.
